Whole Foods Market unites yoga and local vendors through a free community yoga event in Cherry Creek to celebrate summer, presented by Yogination Denver.

The event started with an all-levels rooftop vinyasa yoga class with instructor, Billy Potocnik (Pura Vida) and music by DJ Eric Everhart. Billy led the yoga with a laid back vibe through relatable humor that reminded us all to forget about the perfect pose… or how long you’ve been holding plank.  He challenged us to break free of our egos, enjoy the moment and take this practice with you off the mat. There was no need to ask us to “smile” – it just happened, ‘cause Billy is a hoot! And although we got in some good laughs, the physical class was still powerful and accessible for all levels.  Eric kept the cool beats flowing with the pace of class. It was a tremendous way to connect with the community and salute the summer season.

After yoga, attendees were treated to a scrumptious village filled with Whole Foods vendor samplings of health conscious food and beverages. FitLo caught up with a few of the local vendors to hear about their inspiration to create unique products and services, and how Whole Foods supports the growth of their homegrown local businesses. Watch the video featuring interviews with YogiNation Denver, Let Thy Food, Two Moms in the Raw, The River and Teakoe.

Share with us your favorite local products. Give them a shout out below and you will be entered to win two tickets to the next YogiNation Denver Summer Series event on August 22nd with Gina Caputo and Dragondeer.
