As the summer winds down, make sure to take advantage of the last remaining outdoor workouts! From May to June, there’s an abundance of activities outside; you cannot get to them all (believe me, I’ve tried). But with somewhat less oppressive heat and fewer outdoor classes, it’s time to take advantage and try something new.
Yoga Rocks the Park – Sept. 10 & 17
Yoga Rocks the Park is held throughout the summer on Sundays at Sunken Gardens Park. It’s right off Speer Boulevard and about a 10-minute drive from Downtown Denver.
Thanks to wonderful sponsors, this is a FREE ADMISSION/by donation event. Get to the park by 8:30 a.m. to check in and participate in a 15- to 20-minute guided meditation.
At 9 a.m., the flow begins. One of the best parts of this event is that Yoga Rocks the Park brings the yoga cOMmunity to you. You’ll get to meet many instructors and studios because each week is different. This summer, we’ve performed bikram-inspired flows, vinyasa flows, yoga dance parties and even some yoga nidra.
Plus, there’s more than yoga. Be sure to check out all the vendors before and after class – maybe even during the class if you really need a free massage from Denver Integrated Massage School. Not that I’ve done that or anything… And for all parents out there, bring your kiddos to Namaste and Play! You’ll be able to flow; you’ll kids will be occupied. Everyone wins.
September 9: Yoga Rocks the Park with Tyrone Beverly, Sonic Flow, Sumba and Tava Yoga
September 17: AWAKE. One day mindfulness experience with Erik & Tina Porter

Yoga on the Green – Sept. 10 & 24
The Viewhouse offers a few different kinds of freebie workouts to get your heart pumping. The best part is that most of these workouts include food/beverage deals. Make sure you check out the events page for the location near you.
At the LoDo Ballpark location Core Power Yoga offers Yoga on the Green, which will be held on Sept. 10 and 24 at 10 a.m. This is a great all-levels flow with the option of a free bottomless mimosa or cold-pressed juice if you stick around for brunch. There is also Yoga on the Green at View House Centennial and Yoga on the Green at View House Littleton Sept 17 and Oct 1.
On some Tuesdays at 7 p.m., you can enjoy Glow Flow with Sound Off Colorado and Core Power at the Ballpark Viewhouse. The next Glow Flow is Tuesday, September 19. Afterwards, you can enjoy a $12 dinner option with a free canned wine from Infinite Monkey (yum!).
Keep your eye out for yoga events at View House – They often have more. Just last Wednesday there was a bonus Yoga on the Green with Outlaw Yoga at View House Littleton. Thank you, View House, for supporting the local yoga community!
Pro tip: Make sure to get to the Viewhouse at least 30 minutes early. You can always squeeze in later, but there is limited room; it gets pretty cozy quickly.
