There’s a bunch of free workouts on the horizon — it seems like the fitness community perks up once it heats ups! Denver fitness events are in full bloom. Check out this list of free fitness and yoga classes in May. (Or, hella cheap.) Spoiler alert: there’s a lot of Yoga.
Free Outdoor Workout (Tuesdays @ CU Anschutz Medical Campus, 5:30 pm): Check out this free recurring series (each week has a different focus) that is set to run throughout the summer.
Free Yoga & Fitness (Thursdays, 11 am + Mondays, 6 pm @ Denver Civic Park): Every Thursday through October meet in Denver Civic Park for Yoga Cross with Fitness in the City and The River Yoga. This class combines 30 minutes of functional fitness and 30 minutes of yoga. Every Monday through October, take Vinyasa yoga with The River Yoga in Denver Civic Park . This series is hosted by Civic Center Moves, a community initiative led by the City of Denver. These weekly community workouts are completely free and open to everyone. Just show up with your mat and your water bottle.
The Reconnect (Wednesdays @ Urban Sanctuary, 6 pm): This yoga class is a $10 suggest donation class for all levels.
Free Grand Opening Yoga (Saturday, May 5 @ Yoga Joy Littleton, 10 am-2 pm): Celebrate this Littleton studio’s opening with free classes, giveaways and vendors. Yoga Joy offers yoga and meditation.
Bells & Yoga (Friday, May 11 @ The Fitness Branch, 6 pm): Join this kettlebell gym for kettlbells and yoga ON THE ROOF. Tickets are $5 ($10 at the door) and after you’ll be within walking distance of great breweries and food for a post-workout bite.
Happy Hour Yoga (Tuesday, May 15 @ Just Be Kitchen, 5:45 pm): This is a 45-minute vinyasa flow followed by wine or kumbucha and a meal deal. If you haven’t been to Just Be Kitchen yet, definitely hit up this flow; their paleo treats are unbelievable.
Free Vinyasa Yoga Class (Saturday, May 19 @ Athleta Park Meadows, 8:30 am): In honor of 10 years of Yoga Rocks the Park (one of my favorite Denver traditions),Yoga Rocks the Park Denver director, Christina Pischel, will lead you through this all-levels flow. Check back on the blog for more on Yoga Rocks the Park before the summer season kicks off.
Fitwall Red Rocks Workout (Sunday, May 20 @ Red Rocks, 9 am): This free workout led by Cliff and Hannah will be sure to work the entire body. Can’t pass up a workout on the rocks, but register soon — space is limited.
Free Yoga Flow with FitLo (Wednesday, May 23 @ Boulder Running Co Cherry Creek):Join FitLo Founder, Tricia Olson as she leads a Wednesday night yoga flow once a month at Boulder Running Co Cherry Creek. This class is designed to balance and restore from fitness activities like running and strength training.
Roll Out: Self Care for Creative Babes (Thursday, May 24 @ The Fitness Branch, 6 pm): The owner of the Fitness Branch will lead you through myofascial release techniques directed at those of us who sit at desks all day! Wine included.
